Pray and Trust

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6 NIV)

It is not easy to remain free from anxiety.  It arises within so quickly that it can catch us off guard and overwhelm.  Anxiety is a sure sign that we are not trusting in God’s care for us or His plan for our lives.

Peace and trust are the direct result of prayer, of presenting every situation, every care, and every worry to God with thanksgiving and then like a child resting in His embrace.

Prayer is simply entering into dialogue with God.  It is a loving give and take between God and us.  We speak and He listens.  He speaks and we listen.

We may not always understand or recognize God’s answer to our prayers, but He answers every one as a loving Father.  His wisdom is beyond our understanding and His ways are loving and full of His tender care.  Safety and surety can be found in Him.

If our hearts and minds are listening, with a grateful disposition, we will be open and ready to receive God’s answers to our prayers.  We may not see the answer clearly, we may not understand God’s response, but we will be ready to move in the power of His Spirit with trust and peace.  So let us pray continually, listen always, and give thanks to Our God Who loves us beyond all comprehension.
