I believe we are all called to give liberally of our time, our talents, our love, and our money without expecting anything in return.  When we give, we are to give as if God is giving through us to Himself in others.  We are to give as God gives, completely and without reservation.  We are to give joyfully without complaint.

Giving should not always be done in times of abundance but also when times are lean.  I think that when we give generously out of love God can bless us more fully and powerfully because we are open to receiving the graces and gifts He wishes to bestow on us.  When we give out of love our hearts and minds have peace and we will be richly blessed.  So, let’s give completely with love.

“Give liberally and be ungrudging when you do so, for on this account the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake.”  (Deuteronomy 15:10 NRSV)
