“Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7 NRSV)
Our Lord often said, “Be at peace.” He wants us to entrust everything we are, we have, and we do to Him and be free from anxiety and distress.
Our Lord is always with us. He knows all our desires and needs before we even mention them to Him. And, when we do give Him our cares, He sends His Holy Spirit to us to bring us peace and understanding so that we can walk in conformity to Our Father’s will.
I read somewhere that fear is F=False, E=Evidence, A=Appearing, R= Real. Satan would love for us to be full of fear because when we are filled with fear our eyes are on ourselves, our loved ones, our work, our lives, not on God. And, if our eyes are not fixed on God we stray from the safety of His arms and we become distressed.
Everything we experience is an opportunity for growth, an opportunity to trust more fully in the Lord. If we present all our cares to the Lord, He will bless us with the peace and joy of His Spirit. He will bless us with the ability to see His presence in our lives, how He is moving and blessing us. We mustn’t fret over what is happening in our lives, but rather we should lovingly trust Our Lord to carry our burdens and lighten our loads. If we do so, we will think more clearly, love more freely, and recognize God’s presence with us. So let’s trust in the Lord and be at peace.
